Reduce Energy Costs with Solar Screens

Reduce Energy Costs with Solar Screens

Solar screen… what’s that?

Solar screens are a cost-effective way to reduce energy costs. They work by blocking out the sun’s rays and reducing the amount of heat that enters your home. This helps to keep your home cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter, resulting in lower energy bills. Not only do solar screens help you save money on energy costs, and add a layer of privacy to your home, they also help prevent fading of carpets, furniture and draperies.  Plus, they provide excellent outward visibility.

If you are a United Cooperative customer, great news…. they offer rebates on your energy bill when you install solar screens.
Here are the parameters:

● $5 per 3-by-five-foot window (or, per 15 square-feet of installed screen)
● 70 percent solar heat gain blockage required
● Excludes north-facing windows
● Free energy audit required prior to screen installation

So if you’re looking for a way to reduce energy costs while still maintaining your privacy, then solar screens are definitely worth considering!
